The Rum Kick

RumFest in New York had a competition for cocktails this year. Unfortunately, I did not win, but that doesn't mean I can't share the recipe with you. It's a relatively simple drink that uses cold coffee for it's unique ingredient. Plus the caffeine gives a little "kick."
Kickstart Cocktail
1.25 oz Cockspur Rum
0.50 oz Bols Vanilla
t tsp Goldschlager
1.00 oz Cold Coffee*
1 tsp Simple Syrup (2:1)
Stir and Strain into Martine Glass
Garnish with Cinammon Stick
* Brew a medium strong pot of coffee using a medium roast coffee bean.
Allow sufficient time for coffee to cool before using it in the
cocktail. If needed, put coffee carafe on ice.
Notes:
1. Too much Goldschlager can overpower the drink
