Absinthe, Rum, Links and SwigAds
This is one of those general update post to let you know what I have in the queue and what I’ve been working on. The month of August has been exceptionally quiet in the blogosphere, well for me at least. It must be the hangover from Tales of the Cocktail. The quiet time has allowed me to work on a few projects that have been sitting on the backburner.
First, one of these projects is now named SwigAds. Originally it was the Spirit and Cocktail Ad Network, which was run through BlogAds. Unfortunately that system wasn’t a real success and offered limited control on who could join and the ads were not industry standard. The new system will allow anyone to join who operates a Food & Beverage website and it also offers a lot of benefits to advertisers.
Initially, for the “beta” period, I’m targeting cocktail and spirit sites. If you run a cocktail or spirit site and want to join the “beta” test send me an email (email@example.com) and let me know. I’ll give you more details then. If you’ve already contacted me before, please resend an email. If you are a company, also feel free to contact me.
Second, Okanagan Spirits has sent me a couple samples of their upcoming Taboo Absinthe. I’m currently writing up the article and have had the opportunity to ask Okanagan Spirits some questions about the product. So far I’m fairly impressed with Taboo.
I’ve updated my links list on the main page and hopefully I’ve included your site, if not send me an email and I’ll see what I can do.
And finally, I’ve been updating my bar inventory and I’ve added a few new products, with reviews, including El Dorado 15 Year Old Rum, Appleton White Rum, Alexander Grappa di Prosecco and a couple of the bitters in my collection (Angostura and Peychaud). More to come soon, it’s just a matter of going through everything.
