Canada's Hottest Bartender
April 3, 2008 12:15 PM
TABASCO® is calling Canada's master mixologists
Cool concoctions worth a hot $10,000 prize
Things are about to get hot in bars across Canada. C.W. Shasky & Associates Ltd., the Canadian distributor of world famous TABASCO® brand Pepper Sauce, is thrilled to announce a competition exclusively for Canadian bartenders: The TABASCO® Brand Canada's Hottest Bartender Contest. The heat is on for professional bartenders and mixologists to create an original cocktail recipe infused with one or more of their favourite bold TABASCO® brand flavoured sauces.
"Canadians are no strangers to TABASCO®," says Daryl Lunney, Director of Foodservice for TABASCO®. "The Caesar was created in this country and, after all, we drink more than 300 million a year. Now, we're looking for a saucy new way to spice up people's tastes buds. We're challenging Canadian bartenders to step up to the bar, demonstrate their creativity and smoke the competition."
For shaking up the best concoction, the winner walks away with a sizzling $10,000 prize, a trip to "Tales of the Cocktail" in New Orleans, Louisiana - and bragging rights as Canada's Hottest Bartender.
For more information, and to submit a smokin' hot recipe, visit www.canadashottestbartender.ca. All contestants must be professional bartenders or mixologists employed by a commercial bar or foodservice establishment, including independent bars, sports bars, chain restaurant bar service, fine dining bars, hotels, country clubs, resorts, and cruise lines at the time of winner selection.
Get out those cocktail shakers and stir-sticks - last call for entries is May 31. Entries will be evaluated by a team of professionals and the winner will be announced in June.

I own my own bartending catering service. May I still enter the competition?
Yes, I believe you can.
Darcy,
I'm sorry, but this is just misleading in so many ways.
Tobasco has a lot to answer for to those of us who just don't have a professional interest in bartender competitions!
