Spirited Dinners: La Cote
One of the more recent editions to Tales of the Cocktail has been the Spirited Dinners. Basically, local restaurants are paired up with bartenders from around the world, in an effort to create a unique dining experience. The restaurants chef creates a unique menu for the evening and then the paired up bartender (aka the bar chef) creates a matching menu of cocktails. The goal is to try to compliment the courses with a cocktail and really experience how cocktails can be integrated into dining, not just aperitif's and digestif's. This year I'm pairing up with La Cote Brasserie.
If you are going to be in New Orleans for Tales of the Cocktail you really should join in for one of the Spirited Dinners. You’ll get an opportunity to spend an evening with some great bartenders, who will happily speak non-stop about all things cocktail. You will also get to taste some of the best food in New Orleans and some of the best cocktails in the world.
La Cote Brasserie is located on Tchoupitoulas street and is really easy to get to from the Monteleone Hotel. The festivities start at 8PM and go until 11PM. The menu consists of three courses, plus dessert and five matched cocktails. Here is a PDF of the menu for my Spirited Dinner at La Cote.
For more details and information on buying tickets please visit the Tales of the Cocktail website. I look forward to see you at the bar.

Actually... the Spirited Dinners have been part of Tales of the Cocktail since the very beginning. Which is how I first got involved in Tales. Stephen Visakay had been assigned to Antoine's in that first year, but not being a "mixologist" he asked me to help create the evenings drinks for him.
it is a nice idea to have spirited dinners
oh wow i am still trying to process the fact that robert hess reads your blog and commented on this particular one. how was your spirited dinner did you enjoy all the food and drinks. i had the pleasure of doing mine at Pelican Club which featured drinks from one of the best bartenders in las vegas Tobin Ellis.
