| Instructions: Take a pennyweight of oil of cassia lignea, dissolved with sugar and rum; half a gallon cardamom seed, husked; orange and lemon peel, each one ounce. Sweeten with white sugar, exceeding not two pounds, and make up two gallon measure with the water in which the sugar is dissolved. |
| Notes: Combine the cinnamon oil with a small amount of sugar and muddle (or kill, as they stated in the 1800's). Add the high proof rum. 1 Pennyweight is equivalent to 1.5 grams |
