Bars & Cocktails in Seattle

by on October 21, 2010

After Victoria, I headed down to Seattle for basically a day, but I made the best of it with the help of Rocky Yeh (NW Vivant). If anyone knows good food and good drinks it's Rocky. A group of use took the ferry and then all disappeared for a good night of sleep.

After a restful night of sleep I decided to checkout the Pike Place Market in Seattle. Holy crap, no wonder they can make great cocktails in Seattle, with a market like that anyone with an ounce of enthusiasm could. Lunch was a bit of everything from the dozens of shops. After that I did some more wandering and then took a cab to Liberty for a Don Julio event. Kieth Waldbauer was presiding over a couple of punch bowls. A good number of Seattles bar scene was there - Paul Clarke, Jim Romdall, Jamie Boudreau and a few others plus Rocky.

After an afternoon of drinking tequila, and very good tequila at that, Rocky and I headed down to Zig Zag to meet up with Robert Hess and enjoy the creations of resident bartender Miurray. Having a Last Word and a Doctor Cocktail I decided I need food, stat. On the way for something to eat we stopped at Little Red Studio for a drink, then we ended up at La Bete for some awesome food.

The last stop on the journey was a return trip to Liberty for one last cocktail.

Next time I'm in Seattle I'll have to hit Vessel and Rob Roy, plus some other bars. Otherwise, my one day in Seattle was a good introduction to the city.
