Product Description
This is a premium 25 year old 100% rye whisky from Canada. Unlike American rye whiskies the Alberta Premium Limited Edition is made in the Canadian style, so it isn't as aggressive on the palate. This has all the flavours of rye whisky, but is elegantly smooth.
Label Text
"Whatever you concentrate on dominates: put the taste buds into neutral and you have a wonderful battle, not fought with fists. If you are into chocolate you'll love this. Gently sweet cocoa spreads around the palate, first as a hint then as a full-blown plain chocolate dessert sweetened only by a sprinkling of muscovado."
"Very long. Improbably gentle but faultless. Absolutely nothing dominates. Yet every aspect has its moment of conquest and glory. It is neither bitter, nor sweet, yet both. It is neither soft nor hard on the palate, yet both elements are there/ Because of the 100% rye used, this is an entirely new style of whisky to hit the market.'
"No Canadian Whisky I know has ever had this uncompromising brilliance, this trueness to style and form. For any whisky lover who ever thought Canadian whisky was incapable of hitting the heights as among the world's greats I have previously recommended Alberta Premium. I still do."

Tasting Notes
Colour:
Light golden orange.
Aroma:
Vanilla, fruit and oak aromas, slightly sweet. Very light alcohol aromas. Smooth enough to take a very deep inhale without burning anything! After opening up there are hints of chocolate
Palate:
Very, very smooth with a characteristic rye flavour. Slightly sweet to start then the rye kicks in with its dry spiciness. It finished very clean with a pleasant sweet and spicy flavour. But I find this whisky can change, at times the spiciness is more present and other times another characteristic will stand out. All good though.
Notes:
This isn't a classic full bodied rye, But it's a 100% rye spirit. The 25 years of aging really makes for a great tasting whisky. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite sipping whiskies.
Serving Suggestions :
This is a prime candidate for sipping straight at a slightly cooled temperature, like red wine. For the price though, you can use this anywhere you want, it would make one super smooth Manhattan.
