Product Description
Limoncello is a basically alcoholic sour mix. It is usually made from lemon juice, lemon zest, sugar and grain spirits. There isn't much call for it in cocktails, but limoncello is good for a quick afternoon drink and a mid summers day.
Label Text
From the gorgeous lemon groves of Southern Italy, comes Caravella Limoncello. Created from an original family recipe dating back to 1898, this combination of lemon juice, lemon peels and the finest grain spirits has become the drink rave of Europe. Tasting Notes
Colour:
Hazy translucent yellow. Note that it contains FD&C Yellow #
Aroma:
Lemon, lemon and more lemon. Sweet. At times it reminds me of lemon scented Pledge.
Palate:
Sweet lemon with a slightly alcoholic taste. Kind of like an alcoholic lemonade. Easy drinking when chilled, nothing complicated.
Notes:
Lemoncello is a nice drink on a hot summer afternoon. Simply serve it over ice or use it with some club soda and mint for a refreshing adult lemonade.
Serving Suggestions :
Limoncello is mostly served chilled, straight up, or on the rocks. It can be used in cocktails, but a fresh lemon sugar sour mix is better suited for cocktails.
