Product Description
Pisco is basically a grape eaux-de-vie that is the national spirit of Chile and Peru. Currently, Peru has won a WTO ruling for the right to use Pisco and Chile is working on a new name to represent this product. It is distilled from wines of the muscatel variety in Northern Chile. Guarda is an exceptional Chilean Pisco from Control, aged in American oak barrels ensuring the finest flavour and aroma.
Label Text
Chilean Pisco is a wonderful fragrant and flavourful spirit distilled from wines which are obtained from grapes, particularly of the Muscatel type. It is produced only in the hot, dry region of the North of Chile, where the soil and the climate of the narrow valley are ideal for the development and ripening of the fruit. The very finest Pisco is made by PISCO CONTROL, which protects its quality, flavour, bouquet and assurance of origin. It is the Spirit of Chile.
Tasting Notes
Colour:
Very slightly tinted straw colour.
Aroma:
Strong fermented grape (wine) aroma, earthy, sweet. Slightly alcoholic, but well balanced and pleasant.
Palate:
Dry with earthy flavours and hints of dry white wine. Not as sweet as the nose would indicate. Slightly alcoholic with a nice warming sensation.
Notes:
Pisco Control has some nice characteristics for cocktails. It has a dry taste that would work well with ingredients that add a level of sweetness. It also plays well with many flavours.
Serving Suggestions :
The classic drink to use this in is the Pisco Sour, but it can also be used in a Piscola (Pisco & Coke) or Pisco Punch
