Product Description
A rum that is marketed with a heavy angle towards Cuba, even though it is not a Cuban rum. The Arechabala family left Cuba during the revolution and eventually allowed this rum brand to languish. Eventually it was revived in the 1990's. The marketing machine could almost convince you this was Cuban rum, except for the ultra small print that says it is made in the Dominican Republic.

The Spirit of Cuba
During Cuba's "Golden Age", the most sought after premium rum brand was Rom Matusalem. First produced in Santiago de Cuba in 1872 by a company whose founders had brought from Spain a secret formula for distillation and blending, Ron Matusalem Platino is a unique blend of triple distilled, hand-crafted spirits, married in a special process, and then filtered and refined to create a rum of exceptionally clean taste, delicate balance and subtle flavour.

Clear water white

Aroma:
Light rum aroma with a subtle sweetness.

Palate:
Light rum flavour with some heat in the finish.

Notes:
This is a very light flavour rum that almost borders on the edge of vodka land. It still has some of the rum heat and flavours but is light compared to other white rums. This is one of those rums for people who haven't yet opened their eye's to the world of rum and still live on the isle of vodka.

Serving Suggestions :
Good in fruity cocktails where the flavour of the rum isn't so important. Not great in a mojito because the rum doesn't have enough flavour.
