Product Description
Wiser's is a popular brand of whisky in Canada and in certain parts of the US. They use a higher amount of rye in their mash so it results in unique whisky. Wier's is currently in the portfolio of Corby, a large Canadian spirit manufacturer / distributer.
Label Text
Today, more than a century after J.P. Wiser's first bottle, we still make Wiser's whisky with the same care and craftsmanship.
Tasting Notes
Colour:
Deep golden brown.
Aroma:
Oak with notes of charcoal. Slightly spicy with hints of vanilla. Once it is allowed to open up get some sweeter chocolate notes.
Palate:
Very smooth start, with a quick burst of spicy oak flavours and charcoal. This is followed by a mellowing and the appearance of sweet vanilla flavours. The finish is smooth with a slight sweetness and the lingering charred flavour. The start is more assertive than the finish.
Notes:
This is one of the bolder flavour Canadian whiskies. It has a more charred flavour than any other Canadian whisky I've tried and it also a nice bite.
Serving Suggestions :
This is a good whisky on its own of course, but would also make a very fine cocktail because of its stronger taste profile.
